Salmon, Steelhead, Bass and Trout Fishing
Hello all!
A little about my fishing and my history. I'm a full-time guide. If I'm not on the water, I'm in the hills hunting and chasing game.
I start the season off tournament fishing and guiding for smallmouth bass in April and May. From there I guide every day from the last week in May through June on the Icicle River out of Leavenworth for springers. This is a drift trip down a beautiful scenic river. We will be anchoring up, plunking herring and eggs and pulling plugs throughout the river.
July 1st threw August I fish the Columbia River out of Brewster and Wells Dam in my 20ft Alumaweld Super Vee. Here we are fishing for summer run chinook and sockeye. My boat is equipped with three down riggers and two other rod holders to run divers. I can run up to five rods but will only take four clients at one time in my boat. I can take big groups if arranged ahead of time... Another boat will be lined up to guide you from one of my other guides.
September and the first part of October I will be in the White Bluff to Hanford reach area fishing for the big fall run chinooks. Here is where you have the chance of catching that 50 pounder and many in the 20-30 pound range!
October I go home and catch up with my fellow hunting guides to fill me in on where all the big bucks are hanging out on the properties that I lease for deer hunting in the Okanogan. Hunting will be full swing through November and we start steelhead fishing on the Columbia River out of Brewster and Pateros, December through March. Feb-Mar we might be on the Okanogan River in my drift boat bobber fishing and pulling plugs. This is also a small river where we will be anchoring up and casting and drifting bobbers through the holes... It is very possible to have 15-20 fish days with some being over 10 pounds... Also during this time, I will be on Lake Chelan fishing for lake trout and land locked chinook. With no limit on the lake trout, we fill the cooler and call it good. The limit on the chinook is one, but is well worth the experience. These fish are aggressive and hard fighting. They are also great eating! Now the loop starts all over again with the bass fishing!
If you ever have any question, feel free to call me anytime. Thanks for visiting and hope to see you on the water!
